Mentoring Former Prisoners: A Guide for Reentry Programs
By Renata Cobbs Fletcher and Jerry Sherk with Linda Jucovy
November 2009, 90 pages

This manual draws on the experience of the 11 sites involved in P/PV's Ready4Work prisoner reentry demonstration, as well as established best practices, to provide guidelines for practitioners interested in developing mentoring programs to support former prisoners and enhance the effectiveness of other reentry services.

Overview

P/PV is fortunate to collaborate with committed practitioners around the country—evaluating their programs, working together to identify challenges and best practices, and replicating effective models. From this experience, we distill lessons about effective program strategies and compile them in reports, toolkits, curricula, workshops and conferences, all designed to help service-delivery organizations more effectively fulfill their individual missions.
